Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ)

sliced beef
sliced onion
shiitake mushrooms
sliced pepper

<Dipping source>
2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds *ground
2 cloves Garlic *grated
1 small piece of Ginger *grated
1/2 Apple *peeled and grated
1/4 Onion * grated
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Mirin
1 to 2 teaspoons Toban Djan (Chili Bean Sauce)
1 to 2 teaspoons Sugar *optional

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring it to the boil. Once it starts boiling, off from the heat, then cool it.
*Note: You may wish to add more Toban Djan (Chili Bean Sauce) to make the sauce spicy, OR more Sugar to make it sweet. Alter this recipe and make your own ‘Yakiniku’ Sauce.
The yakiniku sauce is now ready to use! Use to dip grilled meats and grilled vegetables.
